Are we overreacting by having a deputy present at all Bonita Springs City Council meetings?
Mayor Ben Nelson announced that there will now be a sheriff’s officer present at all of the Bonita Springs City Council meetings.
This is a reaction to the recent safety concerns related to a shooting at a Panama City school board meeting and the Arizona shooting.
But is this an overreaction?
Certainly, the Mayor has good motives to protect the people present at the meetings. But is there really any more risk around the country based on limited events involving government officials?
